This Year’s Main Street Newmarket Canada Day Festival Includes US!

Streetcar Developments, along with its partner Dream Unlimited Corp., are thrilled to announce that Newmarket’s historic Clock Tower (180 Main Street) will join their collection of renowned Canadian boutique hotels as The Postmark Hotel. The reinvention of this historic property will be unveiled in spring 2023 and will ultimately help accelerate the ongoing revitalization of downtown Newmarket, prompting a surge of art, culture, and opportunity within the town.

Ahead of the 2023 opening, The Postmark will be making its official debut on Canada Day at this year’s Main Street Newmarket Canada Day Festival on July 1. Community members will have the opportunity to visit the hotel’s festival booth to learn more about the landmark’s reinvention and how it will contribute to the ongoing transformation of the downtown core. The festival will feature live entertainment, interactive activities, and more, and will be open from 11am to 4pm. To learn more about the festival, please visit www.newmarketmainstreet.ca.

The revitalization of the iconic Clock Tower will not only preserve and enhance heritage elements of the building but will also enhance the vibrancy of the town. As Newmarket is known for its incredible community and culture, The Postmark Hotel will serve as an extension of this, providing an opportunity for guests to enjoy the city’s lively downtown core.

The Clock Tower is an incredible historical landmark in Newmarket, and we are dedicated to paying homage to its rich history. says Les Mallins, Founder & President of Streetcar DevelopmentsAs a Canadian company, we prioritize the communities we work within and have ensured that we are restoring the important historical elements of the building while ushering in a new look and feel for guests. We are excited to unveil The Postmark Hotel in 2023 and believe this special property will bring the community together in a new way.

The Postmark Hotel will join a collection of boutique hotels by Streetcar and Dream. The Broadview Hotel, an east end historic neighbourhood landmark (est. 1891) and Gladstone House (est. 1889) on Queen Street West both provide charismatic destinations for their neighbourhoods and have reclaimed their prominent architectural positions within the City of Toronto.

The Postmark will create a number of partnership and employment opportunities for the town of Newmarket and we welcome those interested to connect with us at info@thepostmarkhotel.ca. With our opening less than one year away, inquiries for 2023 corporate and social events can be directed to events@thepostmarkhotel.ca.

We look forward to joining the community.
